With the F2 generation of this strain, we decided to take it in a more colorful direction. The breeding pair we selected for this generation had a beautiful, deep purple coloration and absolutely insane frost. The two parent plants were damn near identical. Both were extremely vigorous, VERY frosty, and absolutely dripping in straight orange peel terpenes.

For this generation, we also went for plants with a more interesting, slightly foxtailed (but extremely dense) bud structure. This gives more surface area which, along with the large, sandy trichome heads, makes for an excellent candidate for washing.

This strain can really be summarized with one word. Valencene.
Valencene is the terpene responsible for things tasting and smelling like oranges. It shows up occasionally in cannabis plants, but it is considered to be one of the more rare terpenes. When it does make an appearance in cannabis, it is rarely the dominant terpene, and it is known to be EXCEEDINGLY rare in autoflowers. And yes, it is named after Valencia Oranges.
 
Orange Portal represents our efforts in selectively breeding a strain to consistently produce that orange smell. We’re not going after a vague citrus, or lemon, or lime terpene profile, which are all more common to find in cannabis plants. We are after that “Just-stabbed-my-thumb-into-an-orange-and-got-sprayed-in-my-nose-holes-with-oils-from-the-rind” smell. In fact, that was the original name for this strain, but we couldn’t fit it on the little labels for our glass seed jars 😂.
 
The Fatality has a tendency to produce, however rarely, phenotypes that have an orange forward smell to them. We’ve known for a while (and verified with lab tests) that the Granite Haze will also sometimes produce significant quantities of Valencene. We crossed those two strains, and we did a couple runs of that cross, one outdoor and one indoor.
It was missing something. The orange smell was there, but none of us really enjoyed the terpene profile overall. So, we made a few crosses, did some test runs, and landed squarely on what we’re bringing to you today.
Froot Fuel Bx1 added some serious depth to this strain, with heavy fuel and rubber notes to go along with the orange smell.
It also added chunkiness, which is never a bad thing. This strain produces BASBALL BAT buds. We love it for indoor production, because we know we’ll get serious yields from it and the whole building will smell like oranges in the last 3 weeks of flower.
This one is finishing in 65-75 days. Yield potential is upward of 10-12 oz. Smoke reports have told us that it’s pretty securely in the middle of the Indica/Sativa effect profile range, so we’re calling this one a 50/50 Hybrid.

    The seed I popped is very stoney and energetic. It’s my morning weed this run. Orange Portal is the perfect wake and bake weed for me. I don’t really smoke it after 7 pm anymore because I will stay up way too late. The buzz is really enjoyable and the orange flavor on the inhale is really realistic. Very orange indeed! Im not the best grower and I pulled 2.5 zips off 1. In capable hands I think she would get huge because she shot up pretty quick. The bud is really good!

    Planted directly in 100 percent Coco with Autopots. Sprouted in less than 3 days. Harvested in 70ish days, trimmed alone so stopped counting at a pound, and left the rest with the sugar leaves in a 5 gallon bucket. Big returns if you can run it warm and lock in your VPD. Peaked at 70 DLI and 2.3 EC with CropSalt. 18 percent return in a 37u press. Medicinal qualities are very energetic and thoughtful, very giggly, great for social interaction, morning meds, or events. May keep you up if you consume at night. Overwhelming Orange scent and taste. Although after a couple weeks cure, its starts to get funky, in a good way. Very sticky. 4.6/5.
